Baltic amber teething necklaces are used around the world to help soothe the inflammation and crankiness that often comes with the teething stage. At Sweetbottoms we carry a range of styles– from translucent yellows to milky oranges to the darkest browns. Some say one shade is better than another, but it’s been our experience that they all work well!

So how do they work? Real Baltic Amber is actually fossilized tree resin, not a stone or rock. It contains high levels of Succinic Acid, which are released when it is worn next to the warmth of your skin. Succinic Acid is beneficial for humans because of it’s ability to reduce pain and inflammation and boost energy and wellness. In the case of teething, the necklace (or some people choose bracelets or anklets) should be touching the baby’s skin. It should be long enough that the baby feels comfortable, but not so long that it can be put in the mouth. We sell a variety of sizes from 10-10.5″ and up. Many adults wear amber for neck and jaw pain, headaches, or general health issues. They can help with braces, too!
All the necklaces and the infant/child-sized bracelets have the same closure system. (The adult bracelets are stretchy with no closure.) The small plastic piece screws in to ensure a secure hold. It’s also easily replaced if it becomes loose or comes out.
