Product Review for Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique
SUMMER IS HERE! And here in North Carolina that means a lot of hot days spent either at the pool or the beach! This is the perfect time to take a closer look at the WrapDuO by Wrapsody: Sport and Water Wrap. This wrap is quite versatile and works on both land and water comfortably. Some use it for yoga or low-impact exercise, some use it in the shower, and it is so lightweight that it makes a great wrap for the summer heat.
The fabric is made from 55% recycled fibers and comes in a zippered bag – BONUS – it can double as a wetbag! The fabric resembles swimsuit fabric so it is lightweight and folds up very small. It will fit into a quart sized Ziploc bag – so it is great for beach or vacation travel since it won’t take up much room. The fabric has a UPF 45 – so it blocks 97.5% – 98% of the suns rays. This is not only helpful in keeping your baby protected but if you spread the wrap over your shoulders you can receive some of the benefits too! The WrapDuO now comes in two colors; Black Pearl or Lagoon (shown in the pictures of this post).
The wrap is a long piece of fabric (Regular size – 4.6m | Long size – 5.5m) and has tapered ends. The width of the wrap is approximate 19 inches. The wrap comes in two sizes, regular and long; regular size is sufficient for me. There is a learning curve to wrapping your baby. The packaging comes with visual instructions but you can find videos online to show you – similar to this one. AND if you are local to Raleigh NC, you can go into Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique for hands on help. Once you wrap a couple times you will get the hang of it quickly.
WrapDuO is best used for babies 8 to 25 pounds. Though you could get away with a heavier baby in the water. With the small stretch in the fabric, if the baby is heavy it can be more uncomfortable. The water helps with the weight of the baby. My toddler is about 29 pounds. And when we are at the pool and he is wanting to take a nap it is easy for me to put him in the wrap. He is a tad heavy but if I get the bottom half of him in the water it is much more comfortable. I wore him a lot more in the water last year when he was only 4 or 5 months old so I imagine this wrap will come in more use with younger smaller babies. For land or fitness use – I would stay in the recommended weight range.
I find that having a water wrap is quite useful when you have an older child you are attending to as well. It is much easier to ensure your older children are safe when you know your youngest is safely wrapped in the WrapDuO giving you two free hands at moments notice. Since the wrap is made of quick drying fabric it can easily air dry. And if you need to wrap your baby before it is completely dry, it will still wrap with ease even while damp. I use two pant hangers along a shower rod to hang mine dry!
